This article reports a method for the detection of traces of drugs in the environment in which the test sample is concentrated on a zeolite column. The experimental results showed that the analysis conditions of capillary electrophoresis were optimized, and the separation was accomplished within 10 min. The linear ranges of the determination were 0.5 – 15.0 mg/L for amodiaquine and 1.0 – 30.0 mg/L for chlorpromazine, respectively. The detection limits of amodiaquine and chlorpromazine were 1.8 and 5.5 mg/L, respectively. To apply this method to the determination of trace drugs in environmental water samples, the recoveries were tested for environmental water samples spiked with 0.02 mg/L amodiaquine and chlorpromazine. Finally, trace amodiaquine and chlorpromazine in tap water were determined by the capillary electrophoresis-indirect competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (CE-ICELISA) method.
