Error Migrating from LocalDB to SQL Server – LocalDB and SQL Server are not compatible
I am working on an asp.Net Core 2.2 web app, and am using an in-memory SQL Server LocalDB as my data store, as the default data store was too sluggish for my needs. My database is ~10GB. Now I’ve upgraded to SQL Server and am getting this error:
Cannot connect to database “TestDbName” due to compatibility level 0. The server supports the compatibility level 120. Either move the database to a new server, or use a higher compatibility level for the server, or upgrade the compatibility level of the database to 120 or higher.
I’ve noticed a lot of references to putting the compatibility level in the connection string. But it looks like I’ve already set it in the connection string so why isn’t it working?
I have added to the connection string as follows:
I have also checked the connection string and compared it to my working localDB connection string and they are the same. I am not seeing where it specifies the compatibility level.
I am running.NetCore 2.2 and.Net Framework 4.5

Perhaps it is a bit of both. We now think that the great crustal mountain range that traverses the coldest, driest region in the world, Antarctica, is actually a fragment of another, colder planet. The South Pole is an island, seabed and all and is a key landing site on this planet, the one we live on. The South Pole is the only place on Earth that is never covered by snow. It is at the tip of the most southerly continent, and sits at the most southerly point of all the world’s oceans. The continent of Antarctica, due to its proximity to this land, and so isolated, is of such size that it is the largest continent on Earth. It’s also of such vulnerability and remote influence that it is the only continent that is in danger of being completely overrun. The landmass of Antarctica is the continent is 22% larger than that of Africa, and nearly 3% larger than that of Australia. And it’s not all desert. In the same way that Africa is not all desert, and Australia is not all desert, Antarctica is also not all desert. Indeed, 75% of the landmass of Antarctica is sea, and the vast majority of that sea is part of the Antarctic Ocean. The open ocean, like the Sahara, is a huge, featureless expanse that is further segregated by numerous ice shelves and other massive ice blocks. Between 1820 and 1830, Adrien de Gerlache, a French explorer aboard the ship the Belgica, discovered the southernmost point on Earth, now know as the De Gerlache Point. This point is five-hundred miles from the South Pole. The Belgica was the first vessel to reach this point, in 1820, and took along several scientific missions. The first expedition was the Neptune, a Russian research vessel. On the Neptune, which had been blown off course and landed in the Antarctic Ocean, was the famous scientist 6d1f23a050
