Club the similar items and sets together in a bag – If you’re putting your old tea set for sale, ensure that the complete set is put together. Use Zip-loc bags to keep items with multiple pieces together. For large items use reusable grocery sacks and Ikea bags. Do not forget to label them.

The problem with buying used is that you have no idea what condition the unit is in. Appearance is not a good indicator and you have no way to do a pressure test. So, what do you do?
For parts that are large, some auto salvage yards will haul them for you. This is something to ask when you make the phone call. Some people will buy the entire vehicle in order to scrap it themselves. Other parts such as trunk lids, hoods, door panels, and roofs can be too large for some to haul as well. If you need them to haul it for you, ask them how much they will do it for. Make sure that you comparison shop if you feel the price is too steep. If no one else can do any better or they don’t have the part, you can always call them back and tell them you will be there to make the purchase. You are not obligated the moment you make the phone call.
2) The junk yard. While you might think you are above visiting a junk yard, are you above saving a lot of money? Probably not. A quick stop in at the local junk yard might save you a lot of money compared to a new air filter. And, even better, this ties directly into point #1. A friend of my, Robert, needed an auto part so he looked online and found a junk yard. The junk yard shipped him a part that was almost new and he couldn’t have been happier. Just cause an air filter is used, doesn’t mean it’s very used!
Looking for used car parts can be easy if you know where to go to find them. Depending on the area you live in there may or may not be a local auto salvage yard. This is the best place to buy used car parts. There are two different types of auto wrecking yards. One is a pull it yourself yard in which you pay an entrance fee to get into the yard and remove the parts you are looking for yourself and pay for them once you’ve taken them off. The other type of yard is a full service yard in which you tell the salesperson what part you need and they will have it removed for you.
